On November 6, 2014, Delbarton’s Minority Mentors Program (MMP) held its annual charity basketball tournament to benefit Covenant House, a national agency supporting homeless youth. Serving young people from the ages of 18 to 21, the organization operates 20 locations throughout North and Latin America, offering food, shelter, and other supportive services.
The annual three-on-three tournament took place in both Delbarton gyms, pitting 32 teams against one another as enthusiastic students cheered them on. Many of the teams were composed of both students and teachers, and an all-faculty team eventually took home the championship title. The second annual tournament raised $950 in support of Covenant House, and MMP has donated a total of $1,350 since its inaugural charity event.
